Join a community of animal lovers who believe every pet deserves safety, dignity, and love. As a Friend of the Shelter, your support helps us care for animals in need whether it’s an abandoned kitten, a lost dog, or an aging pet whose owner can no longer care for them. Your support means they’ll be met with open arms and a soft place to land.
When you become a Friend of the Shelter, you’ll receive a sticker, insider updates, and invitations to Friends-only events celebrating the animals and people who make this work possible.
Lemhi County Humane Society is a non-profit, charitable 501(c)(3) organization, and your donations are tax-deductible.
Humane Society Hours:
Wednesday – Monday 11 am – 5 pm
Closed Tuesdays
Rags & Wags Thrift Store Hours:
Monday – Friday: 8 am – 6 pm
Saturday: 9 am – 6 pm

We’re riding a serious wave of good vibes today because… TWO more adoptions yesterday!! 🎉💛
Sweet Chica and our shy little kitten Arlo headed off to their forever homes, and our hearts are basically doing cartwheels. Knowing they’re starting their new lives surrounded by love is the best feeling ever. 💕🐾

Let’s just say we’re much better at caring for animals than taking pictures of them. (We included a close-up of him so you know how cute he is) 😆📸
We’re also absolutely loving the Empty the Shelters event made possible by Cathy Bissell and BISSELL Pet Foundation — it’s been such a gift watching so many animals find their people!

Meet Bumble — the tiny survivor with the cutest bobtail and a huge personality! 💛🐾
After losing his tail and healing like a champ, this feisty 7-month-old kitten is now healthy, happy, and harness trained (yep — he’s learning leash walks!). He’s great with dogs, loves other adult cats, and would make an amazing buddy for a lonely feline.

🚨🐶 ADOPTION CELEBRATION TIME! 🐱🚨
We are absolutely bursting with excitement today! Our sweet pup Speedy—after 3 months of waiting patiently (and zooming laps around the play yard!)—was officially ADOPTED today! 🎉💛
And a big, giant, absolutely over-the-moon heck YES for our longest-resident kitty, Poppy! This incredible girl came into our facility on 12/10/2024… and exactly one year later, on 12/10/2025, she found her forever home! Talk about a full-circle moment. ✨😭💕
Today is pure happy happy joy joy around here, and we want to keep that energy rolling. Please come out and help us continue EMPTYING our shelters—there are so many amazing animals still waiting for their shot at love and home. 🏡💙
